Stormwater Management raises £4800 for RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution)

Posted on 18/Nov/2016

On the 28th October 2016 Stormwater Management held our Annual Fundraiser which was in aid for RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution). The team has been raising money and awareness for a different charity close to the hearts of employees at the Hinckley head offices each year for the last 5 years, and this year the RNLI was selected by the team. The RNLI is an amazing charity which covers not only rescue operations but also educates the public on the real dangers of the open water and the importance of keeping safe at the beach.

Our successful event saw employees follow the theme of ‘Every day’s a birthday at the seaside’. This year’s event was the most successful yet, with a mixture of costumes designed which included sailors, pirates, cabin crew and Ariel from little mermaid to name just a few. Throughout the day the team took part in a number of games, quizzes and a mixture of nautical themed challenges which incorporated the ‘Best Pirate Impression Awards’, ‘What’s in the Box’ and ‘Sea Shanty Sing Off’. The day ended with the Business Development Director, Gordon Trehy and Operations Director, Bruce Mowbray ‘Slimed’ with all proceeds going to the RNLI. What a pair of sports!

With the help and support from a number of local businesses and suppliers to Geosynthetics, the team can announce that they raised a staggering £2,400 this year which Geosynthetics Ltd Chairman, Chris Foxton kindly doubled to £4,800. This donation has now been given to the RNLI and everyone at Geosynthetics are keen to see what fantastic things the RNLI team will do with the money.

We would like to thank local businesses and our suppliers for the donations and support for our fundraiser. This help is invaluable in making this day such a success.
